Who Are We?

Our Story

Westview Accounting & Tax Services Inc. is a family-run business with a story rooted in resilience, sacrifice, and the pursuit of a better future.

It all began in the 1980s when Mirmalik, our father, made the difficult decision to send his brother to Canada first. The idea was to find stability and create a path for the rest of the family.

His brother worked tirelessly, saving every penny he could to sponsor Mirmalik, who finally arrived in 1988.

Settling in British Columbia, our father always said that the mountains reminded him of home. The brothers worked relentlessly, taking on multiple jobs—sometimes three to four at a time—to build a future from the ground up.

Determined to support his growing family, Mirmalik worked wherever he could, including delivering newspapers and flipping burgers at A&W. But he quickly realized that this wasn’t the future he wanted for his five children.

One day, a close friend recognized his natural talent for numbers and suggested accounting as a career. Intrigued, he researched the field and enrolled at BCIT, where he pursued his education in accounting.

After gaining his education, Mirmalik wasted no time. With only a short mentorship under his belt, he boldly established his first business in 1997—A-Plus Accounting (now known as Westview Accounting & Tax Services Inc.).

For over 20 years, he ran the business from his garage—much like Microsoft and Apple—serving the Surrey community with dedication.

He often shared stories with his sons about how he would take hours-long transit trips to BCIT just to ask his professor a few questions between classes, which would last only five minutes.

To truly appreciate what this meant, imagine a world without Google, YouTube, or instant answers at your fingertips. Back then, if you wanted knowledge, you had to work for it—spending hours in transit, waiting for those few minutes of wisdom. He didn’t have online courses, chat forums, or quick search engines. Every piece of knowledge was earned through dedication, long commutes, and relentless effort.

Fast forward to today—after years of mentorship and hands-on training from Mirmalik, his sons and nephews now run the company with his guidance and blessing. He has instilled in them not only technical expertise but also the values of dedication, integrity, and service. Having been born and raised in British Columbia, they carry forward his vision, ensuring that Westview remains a pillar of financial expertise and community support.

In 2020, we took a significant step forward, opening our very own office in North Vancouver, solidifying our presence and commitment to serving clients across the Lower Mainland.
